Juan Luis Arsuaga

For his work as a palaeontologist, contribution to science and dissemination of knowledge at universities and in scientific journals around the world. He is co-director of the archaeological excavations in the Atapuerca Mountains (Burgos) and a foreign associate member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in the United States. He is also director of the UCM-ISCIII Centre for Human Evolution and Behaviour and a visiting professor of the Department of Anthropology at University College of London.
