Abadía Retuerta is a 5-star hotel and winery located less than a two-hours’ drive from Madrid, right at the heart of the Duero Valley. The property spans over 700 acres, including 180 acres of vineyards, and it is home to a breathtaking 12th-century monastery founded by the Premonstratensian Order in Spain. The hotel, which has recently been granted with three Michelin Keys and it’s a member of Leading Hotels of the World, itself has over 8,000 m2 for 30 exclusive rooms, made up of 27 double rooms and 3 suites. The project’s roots are in wine, but it has now become so much more, driven by an ongoing passion to create unique and memorable experiences.
Abadía Retuerta offers superb wine tourism experiences, and its innovative winery has its own Protected Designation of Origin, endorsing the estate’s wine as a product of guaranteed origin, quality and tradition. Also, Abadía Retuerta is one of the world’s top ten wine destinations, ranked number 8 at the prestigious World’s Best Vineyards 2024 Awards. Its gastronomy is also outstanding: there are five restaurants on site, which focus on local and seasonal produce, as well as ingredients from the estate’s own vegetable garden. Its flagship restaurant is Refectorio — holder of a Michelin Star, a Green Star and two Repsol Suns — where diners are taken on a journey around the very best local cuisine, showcasing the surrounding lands. All of this is enhanced by the sheer beauty of the setting, its nature, its art collection and its commitment to wellbeing. Santuario Wellness & Spa, the estate’s shrine to wellbeing, was named the “Best Luxury Historical Spa” in Europe at the 2022 World Luxury Spa Awards.
